Poverty in Harris County

Did you know that 16% of Harris County residents – close to 600,000 people – live in poverty? This means that they have trouble:

Paying rent
Paying utility bills
Buying food

NAM Needs Volunteers!

NAM is always in need of volunteers, especially for Meals on Wheels and the Resale Shops. For info, call Linda at 281-885-4609 or email lfullerton@namonline.org.

NAM Needs Furniture Donations!

To arrange for a pickup for your gently used furniture, call 281-880-9482. NAM Resale relies on furniture sales to produce much-needed revenue for NAM programs and services.

Team NAM

Team NAM is a training program to prepare for the January 30, 2011 Chevron Houston Marathon, Aramco Half Marathon, and EP5K, and to support NAM. Participants are asked to raise a minimum of $400 in donations for NAM.

Group Runs are held on Saturdays at 6:30a.m., starting from Meyer Park.

Registrations will be held:

Wed., July 14, 5:30-8:00PM, info/sign-up at Fish City Grill in Vintage Park Shopping Center on Louetta just east of Hwy 249.
Sat., July 17 & July 24, 7:30-8:00AM, at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church Church, 7810 Cypresswood, Spring, TX ( east parking lot )
Sun., July 25, 1:00PM sign-up party and food at a residence in Cypress (send email to address below to request information).

Jeans & Jewels 2010

Saddle Up for NAM!

Wonderful life-sized fiberglass horses arrived at Vintage Park on June 23rd. The horses are being painted by local artists selected by a panel of judges and will soon be displayed throughout the community. During the time the horses are being painted, they will be “stabled” at Vintage Park.

For $3,500, individuals or businesses may display a painted horse on their property for several weeks leading up to the Jeans & Jewels Gala, at which the horse will be auctioned off. The sponsorship also includes a half page ad in the gala program.

For $10,000, individuals or businesses may order a custom painted horse, which also includes the donor’s name on a plaque at the base of the horse and a full page ad in the gala program. The custom horses belong to their sponsors, and will not be auctioned off.
